DETAILS
Monica Novii Wireless Patch System
No belts. No cables. The future of fetal monitoring.
Features
Maternal/Fetal Monitor that non-invasively measures and displays fetal heart rate, maternal heart rate and uterine activity – putting patient comfort first while helping to optimize caregiver workflow.
Empowering you and your patients.
Patients are looking for more in their birthing experience and care providers are ready for something new. Empowering caregivers and
patients with a solution that puts patient comfort first while helping to optimize caregiver workflow. The Novii Wireless Patch System – it’s time for something different.
Patient Comfort – a comfortable experience for your patient1
Freedom
Novii enables freedom of movement with a belt-free laboring experience that can help empower patients and enable caregivers. Monitoring does not need to restrict patients from the freedom to choose her laboring position and ambulatory activity. Patients can have the freedom to move unassisted about the room while getting the gentle care needed from caregivers. When your patient is resting or just enjoying a private moment with a loved one, Novii’s ‘no-repositioning’ technology allows patients the freedom to labor without the need for transducer
repositioning once a good connection has been established.
Mobility
Novii enables mobility which can help decrease the length of labor2. Novii leverages digital innovation to wirelessly communicate patient data removing the need for cords between the patient and the fetal monitor. Create a wireless experience for your patient and empower your
patients with Novii mobility.
Choice
Monitor your patient without putting restrictions on labor and birthing choices. Empower your patients to do what is best for them and provide flexible choices during labor. The Novii Patch & Pod, when connected, are waterproof and can be left in place during a bath or
shower.* For those patients receiving an epidural placement, monitoring can continue unrestricted by cords or belts. Empower your patients with choice.
Optimize your workflow – you deserve more
Confidence
All caregivers should feel empowered by their technology – combined with their clinical skill – to drive the best possible outcomes. Novii detects the Fetal ECG and Maternal ECG rather than fetal pulse through ultrasound doppler and a separate device for maternal heartrate. This alternative method, with the Novii power to acquire, convert and process digital data, allows mECG and fECG to be simultaneously monitored and differentiated. This allows MHR and FHR to be easily separated to help avoid maternal/fetal confusion. The rate of MHR and FHR confusion is less frequent with fECG then doppler ultrasound.3
You can be confident that you are monitoring fetal heart and uterine activity even in the challenging circumstances.
Novii uses electromyogram (EMG) signals from the uterine muscle to detect uterine activity rather than UA through TOCO. Uterine EMG is used to extract the UA trace and has been shown in a clinical study to be equivalent to TOCO UA.4
Confidence for all patients - including acquiring reliable tracings on high BMI patients. BMI can impact the ability to pick-up consistent,
reliable tracings. FHR is especially challenging on high BMI patients, but not with Novii. Novii monitors the electrical signal on the patient’s abdomen, these signals are not compromised by high BMI5.
Your Time
Focus on your patient – not the technology. With Novii, no separate monitoring devices are needed to acquire heart rate – MHR, FHR and UA are all integrated and offer continuous monitoring. This may reduce the burden of intermittent MHR checks or of using other monitoring modalities.
Frequently needing to move the transducer can increase concerns that you are missing something and can take time away from focusing on your patient. Novii’s simple, ‘peel and stick’ design eliminates the need to re-position transducers once the initial signal is acquired. There is no repositioning with Novii. Spend more time focused on patient care and trace interpretation, so you won’t miss a thing.
Novii enables mobilization allowing patients to walk or move to other upright positions that may help improve the effectiveness of
contractions6 and reduce the length of labor7.
Positive labor progression can positively impact your workflow.
Ease of Integration
Novii offers an alternative monitoring method that integrates seamlessly into your existing workflow and connects with the Corometrics 259cx series monitor. Data collected with Novii can flow into your existing IT surveillance and archival system via your Corometrics monitor.Whether you are new to Corometrics or an experienced user – Novii builds on the reliability and quality of Corometrics for easy integration and use.
Integrate Novii into a wireless workflow that provides clear access to the patient without the trip hazard of cords or the need to assist the patient in moving with cords if they decide to ambulate. It’s time to upgrade your monitoring with Novii.
Technology
The Monica Novii Wireless Patch System is an intrapartum Maternal/Fetal** Monitor that non-invasively measures and displays fetal heart rate (FHR), maternal heart rate (MHR) and uterine activity (UA). Novii provides the opportunity to enhance your current Labor and Delivery monitoring experience.
It connects to Corometrics 259cx Series Maternal/Fetal Monitor and allows data to flow seamlessly to your existing surveillance and archival system. Novii has three components, the Novii Patch, Novii Pod, and Novii Interface.
The Novii Patch
is a single-use, peel-and-stick disposable part, which attaches to the woman’s abdomen using adhesives. The patch incorporates ECG electrode areas which pick up ECG and EMG signals from the skin surface and then transfers them to the Novii Pod.
The Novii Pod
is a reusable part which magnetically connects to the Novii Patch to pick up the fetal and maternal ECG and EMG signals and then filters, digitizes and processes them in real time to extract the FHR, MHR & UA data. The pod transmits this data via Bluetooth to the Novii Interface.
The Novii Interface
is a reusable part that translates Bluetooth data transmitted by the Novii Pod into signals of the correct format to input to your fetal monitor with simple Fetal Monitor connection options (must have FSE option). The Novii Interface also has a touch screen and has two bays incorporated into its base for charging and pairing of the Novii Pods.
